Piece of cake, they had superslabs in the 80s, country roads in the early
60s. ;-]] Still cleared Ky and Tn at over 100, at night.

As a soft-bellied late Boomer, I bow to your life experiences. I am not
worthy, oh master of the twolane, biasply and pebble-grain virgin vinyl.

I still can picture the line of cars in front of me going over the next hill
for miles, the semi on your back bumper, but then you had the same thing
coming at you. There was a stretch called the Ky turnpike for about 60 miles
that was always a relief to see. Getting lost in Louisville, fighting your
way through Indy, looking for a place to eat that looked safe, fog in the
hills, and it always rained for half the trip. Made that trip twice a year
for 16 years with 2 kids in the back seat and once in a while the
mother-in-law. We did get the chance to go over to the next town and attend
an Elvis home coming in .62, who knew he would get that big? Great times, we
didn`t know any better. ;-]]
