I totally agree. We had 2 eye walls. From the tree fall and the report
of the neighbors who stayed, the eye moved due east after landfall and
passed a mile or so east of my house. Other than trees I had almost no
damage. A few days without power and Mediacom cable can eat my shorts
but it was not much worse than a tropical storm. A mile south on the
beach was entirely different. In Pensacola you got winds from the
south producing the storm surge and all we got back here on the canal
was the max winds from the east and then suddenly from the west.
Nothing compared to the debris in the water that does the most damage.
Friends farther inland got flooding from the rain and debris blocking
the creeks. I had a few shingles to repair and a few trees to cut up.
Power was on in 5 days and I was finished with repairs and cleanup
before Mediacom got around to finding the one broken wire up the
street.
We used to remember Frederic (`79) where we were on the east side.
Most here say Ivan was worse than Frederic. Ivan was much worse on
the beach but I`m afraid that Ivan taught everyone except those on the
beach the wrong lesson and many will die in the next Cat 3 hurricane
that goes 25 miles west of here. But that`s the price we pay to live
in paradise.

I am not complaining. I just do not get it.
I have a c4 ,my second. I love the body of a 1980-82 c3. But I do
not see how my car is on ebay and bidding around 17-18grand with 19000
documented miles and you have automatic late c3 cars for 15 grand.
Aside from being more difficult to get in, I do not see a comparison
between a 81 C3 corvette with 60 - 80 thousand miles and a 1996 c4 lt4
6spd.
So enlighten me...... without being insulting.
Thanks
